Artists Patti Polk and Matt Nelson have a truly profound connection with the natural beauty of the Southwest, and a deep respect for the history of it's many ancestral cultures and lands that inspires the wonderfully unique jewelry that they create as a husband and wife design team.

Patti's lifetime of artistic experience, including many years of work as a scenic artist in the film and television industry, has given her an eye for color and texture that combines seamlessly with Matt's abundant creative talent and soaring imagination, to make for uniquely handcrafted fine silver jewelry that artfully blends their individual styles together into enchanting jewelry that is both strikingly original and personally meaningful at the same time.

Tempemonon’s primitive, yet sophisticated styles are created with .999 Fine Silver Precious Metal Clay, giving them an organic presence that is not found in typical Sterling Silver silversmithing processes. In addition, many of their jewelry pieces are enriched with authentic ancient pottery shards and stone relics, dating back 800 - 1200 years.

Tempemonon also utilizes a variety of other techniques and materials in their pieces. Semi-precious stones, mixed metals, including Copper and Pewter; Czechoslovakian glass beads, unusual stone beads, found objects, and personally hand-mined, cut, and polished fine Agate cabochons are all incorporated into their work. Tempemonon’s Spirit Woman series celebrates the mystery and wisdom of women through the use of intricately woven Copper wire forms adorned with ancient pottery shards, beads, crystals, and semi-precious stones that remind us of the many paths our lives take on our journeys together through this life.

Thus, Tempemonon was born. Derived from a mystical formula of divination, the name embodies the essential beliefs that art should always be Divine in spirit - and not only beautiful to the eye, but to the Heart as well.
