Please understand, we are very short handed around here (staff of one - no benefits) and I can’t always get to the email on a regular basis. Thank you for your patience.

Is there no way anyone can reach him? Does he refuse to have contact with anyone but a select group of people?

No, that’s definitely not the case. In fact he’s one of the kindest, warmest, most congenial people you could ever hope to meet. But obviously, he has no phone or internet access most of the time. He does answer a lot of Email when he’s here. It’s just that no one knows when he’s going to show up, so it’s impossible for him to answer the Email on any kind of a regular basis. This being the case, I am obliged to answer much of it myself.

Is he on the lam or something? Does he hide out in the middle of nowhere because he is an illegal alien?

This one always makes me laugh. No, Tempemonon applied for a work permit and
has always fully complied with all of the legal stipulations set forth by United States law and the department of immigration and naturalization. After his arrival in Arizona he was granted an extension, which allowed him to remain in the U.S. and work at the dude ranch. He later applied for full citizenship. After going through a process of scrutiny and passing a citizenship test to obtain what so many of us take for granted, he was eventually given full citizenship. He’s adapted so well that few people would ever guess he wasn't native born. Some might say that anyone who would write a song that portrays President Bush in a rather foolish light couldn't be very patriotic - of course the opposite is true.

Tempemonon? What kind of a name is that? Does it have some kind of meaning?

Tempemonon is a family pet name given to him shortly after he was born. Being so young at the time of the tragic death of his parents left Tempemonon with a lot of unanswered questions. Certainly it had some sort of significance, but the answer to that died along with his parents. No, it’s not his actual legal birth name, it’s just what everyone calls him - well, actually we just call him “Tempe”.

How is it that the “mysterious” Canadian teens burned down the ranch? Was this intentional? Wasn't there a formal investigation of some kind?

Apparently they were not guests at the ranch, but had made the aquaintence of another group of teens who were ranch patrons. Plans were made for a gathering or party of some kind inside a small arcade that had been built to entertain the younger guests during  off hours at the ranch (pinball, foozball, air hockey etc.). The six Canadian teens were in a  band of some sort apparently, and showed up in a VW bus loaded full of equipment for the occasion. Reportedly, after consuming a fair amount of beer, the teens commenced to break out all of their equipment for a jam session inside the tiny arcade. Several large amplifiers, guitars, keyboards, and various other equipment, including laser and strobe lights were hauled inside for the intended bash. With electrical outlets being in short supply inside the arcade, they made the unfortunate mistake of plugging EVERYTHING into a single outlet by means of using various extension cords and outlet expanders. The huge amount of power drawn through a single outlet heated up the circuit to the point where it started a fire inside the wall. The arcade fire quickly spread to the rest of the ranch and burned it to the ground. No people or animals were injured in the fire, but the half drunken teens slipped away before the smoke had cleared and their identity remains a mystery to this day.

How does he make records in the middle of the wilderness? Does his remote location and the fact that he is forced to do everything himself and without the benefit of a commercial recording studio force him to make crude recordings?

No, none of this is a factor due to the tremendous advances in computer technology. Although he is forced to play just about everything himself, apparently adobe and log construction actually make for a pretty good recording environment (having a minimal amount of sonic reflection). He is able to connect most of his instruments directly to an interface that connects to an Apple Powermac computer, which is easily supplied through an array of solar panels (though he has confessed to having a backup power generator for emergencies).
